THE DAIRYING INDUSTRY.

PREPARAATIONS FOR NEXT SEASON, With the advent of winter dairying operations in the district are closed for the season, but preparations are already in hand for next season. Many settlers who have not hitherto been in a position to spuply the factorycontemplate doing so during the coming season, and numerous enquiries are being received by the management of the Te Kuiti Factory with reference to next season's operations. During the season just closed a considerable supply was obtained by the factory from the district contiguous to Otorohanga, one of the chief sources of supply from that locality being the Mangaorongo district. It is anticipated that a considerable increase in the amount of cream produced in and around Manga rongo will take place at the opening of the coming season, and in order to make arrangements with the settlers a visit was paid by Mr R. M. Somerville, direccor, and Mr H. Boscawen, manager, the district on Wed nesday. A meeting was held in the schoolhouse at Rangiatea. Mr F. Corboy presided and there was a good attendance of settlers. Mr Somerville addressed those present, and re ferred to the advantage of having a co-operative factory on the home separation system in the district. He also explained the manner in which the work of the factory was carried on, and the methods by which the settlers' supplies were handled. After a number of questions had been satisfactorily replied to the meeting resolved, on the motion of Mr Chiles, seconded by Mr Prendergast, that Mr Somerville be thanked for his address, and that the settlers supply Te Kuiti Factory next season. A meeting is to be held at Honikiwi today With a view to making arrangements beween the settlers and the company for a cream supply from that district, and a further meeting is to be held at Mr Rountree's residence on the Te Rau-a-moa road very shortly with a view to arranging for supplies from that locality. ____„____
