TE KUITI BAND SOCIAL

The social held last Wednesday was about the best attended of any of these . functions so far, there being nearly 100 people present at one stage of the proceedings. There is no doubt hut that the high opinion in which these affairs are held by the public is fully merited. The music is the beat obtainable, the band playing for many of the dances, and Messrs J. Hetet and Christian dividing most of the remainder. The floor is always perfect, and the arrangements all that could be desired, with the single exception of the electric light. When electricity proved "the light that failed," the committee dropped back on kerosene, and, if the lighting was not so brilliant, this did not seem to interfere with the enjoyment of the dancers in any way.
