CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
THE RETAILER'S INTEREST. A meeting of the Te Kuiti Chamber of Commerce was held in the Municipal Chambers last night, the president, Mr Mostyn Jones, occupying the chair.
The chairman in explaining the object oE the meeting, said it was thought by some that general meeting ? of the chamber should be held more frequently. He would be glad to have an expression of opinion on the point. There was also a proposal that the proposed Retailers' Association should be incorporated with the Cham ber. Personally, he agreed with the idea, and would bo glad to see it carried out.
After a general discussion it was resolved on the motion of Mr C. F. Turnpr seconded by Mr R. Fenton, that the retailers join the chamber and have a sub-committee appointed to attend to the special requirements of the retailers' branch, the president and secretay to be members ex officio. It was decided to call a meeting for next Wednesday evening to appoint a committee.
The chairman said ho hoped a good representative meeting would be held. The business waa important, and deeply affected the business people of the town.
