ARIA.

Own Correspondent. The usual monthly meeting of the directors of the Aria Dairy Company was held last Saturday. There were present —Messrs J. C. Riddle (chairman), S. Riddle, Nelson. Smyth, Collins, Ward (secretary), and McDonald (manager). Mr Petrie sent an apology. It was finally decided to go on with the additions. Mr A. Mc Intyre had been engaged to do the carpenter work. Mr P. Smyth undertook to supervise the concrete portion and Messes Collins and McDonald the stone. Accounts amounting to £650 were passed for payment. Verv encouraging reports were received all the way round for the supply of next season.

On Sunday last in the absence of the proprietor (Mr Ready), a "burglar went a-burgling," and broke into the grocery store. Without a doubt he «as an amateur, and gained entrance by using an axe on the back door. The till was evidently his object, for the storeman found it had been tampered with. In his work, however, he must have been disturbed, fer little was misaed although the intention was there. The weather has broken. Southerly weather has reigned supreme now for over a week and very cold it has been giving a check to all growth and stock. On Saturday last the barometer fell to 28.72, an indication of something almost worse came. It has at present hung up the metalling schemes, but it is to he hoped a change for the better will come and allow a few more miles yet to be done.
