EMPRESS PICTURES.

To-night the usual new mid-weekly series of pictures will be screened at the Empress Theatre. The list includes the "Adventures of a Retired Colonel," "Cowboy's Mother," "Bronco Billy's Escape." The last named is commented on as being another dramatic series of the world iamous Western series abounding with the vigour of the rugged hilla. Broncho Billy gets cheated at a poker game, wounds his opponent in the hand, recovers the money, holds the mob at bay and escape*. The sheriff pursues him, Broncho gets shot through the arm, and finally comes into the home of a girl who has before befriended" him. The girl hides Brencho Bill and .sends the sheriff on a false trail. The rest of the series is comprised of Pathe Gazette, "Carbonic Aaid Gas," "Capturing Bear Cubs." The comic and comedy element is represented by "What's the Joke?" and "Only a Miller's Daughter."

PREMIER PICTURES

To-morrow evening the screening of an entirely new series of films will be shown at the Alexandra Rink. A film of great interest it entitled "The Pirate's Daughter," and the favourable criticisms in connection with this picture are of the highest. The programme consists of eleven pictures, and include scenic, dramatic, comic, instructive and educational films. The programme is one worthy of ranking amongst the most interesting yet shown.
