PIO PIO MEDICAL ASSOCIATION.
DOCTOR TO BE APPOINTED. The scheme promoted by the residents of Te Kuiti and surrounding districts with the object of establishing a doctor at Pio Pio has now been carried to a successful issue, and steps are to be taken to have a doctor appointed immediately. The scheme as originally propounded provided for the raising of £7OO for the purpose of acquiring a site for a doctor's residence and for the erection of a suitable building, the settlers undertaking to raise the sum of £2OO. This amount has now been raised with the assistance of the Congregational Union, and the Conggrational Manse is to be purchased for a doctor's residence. Mr J. Boddie, district representative on; the Waikato Hospital Board, reported favourably on the proposal, and at the last meeting of the board it was decided that the proposal should be carried out.
