A sensational disappearance is reported from Petone. A man named Carter was proceeding to lock up his house, which is ( isolated and surrounded by trees,; when he heard a man approaching from behind. Seeing Carter, the ,man 'bolted. Carter "called to his son, who had just retired, and he jumped out of the window and chased, the burglar over the fence.
