ARNST TO ROW BARRY.

Sydney, Monday. Dick Artist, the sculling champion, when speaking at a social function, announcad that the had accepted a challenge issued by Barr, the English sculler, to row for the championship of the world and £SOO a-side on the Thames.
The race will be rowed at the end of August or early in September, and Arnst stated thit he had booked his passage to England by a steamer leaving Sydney at the end of March. Arnst accept san offer of £SOO expenses if no more is forthcoming, but he hopes to get at least £750. ARNST DENIES REPORT. Received February 6, b.35 p.m. Sydney, Tuesday. The Sun publishes a denial bv Arnst with respect to the report published in certain papers to the effect that ho had arranged a match with Harry. When interviewed he declared he !c ,r t the function where it is alleged hn made the statement early, and said nothing there about Barry. He added: "I do intend to cable Barry about coming to terms, but nothing ban been done so far."
