BOWLS.
Large nominations have been received for re Kuiti Club's tournament, which includes pairs, champion singles, handicap singles and a drawing competition. The tournament promises to provide considerable excitement during the season. Several first year players in the club are showing excellent form, and in a short time should be a decided acquisition to the strength of the club.
The original holders of the Cochrane Ferns are still the proud possessors of the emblems in question. However many challenges are in the air and the trophies are not to be worn by the present holders without being called upon to justify their right in many a stirring struggle.
A list is now up at the local club house for entries for the South Auckland tournament, to be held at Hamilton on January 29th and 30th. Those desirous of making the trip are requested to sign the. : r names to that effect. Teams for the tournament will be chosen by the Selection Committee.
