At the conclusion of tho labours of the day the staff engaged in the work signified their appreciation of tho manner in which Mr Mora had carried out. the duties by returning him three hearty cheers. The public at election time have to depend entirely upon the efficiency of the postal stall' in obtaining news, and the responsibility devolving upon the officers in charge of tho various stations is exceedingly heavy. The public at To Kuiti and (Korohanga owe a heavy debt of gratitude to tho officials at these centres for ihe able manner in which the emergency waa met on election night, ;uid for the unfailing courtesy with which all tho demands of a keenly interested and impatient crowd were inel. A feature at the (lower show yesterday, was a fountain erected by Mr/tV. Jane, of To Kuiti. The fountain played into a large pool of water which, was tastefully ornamented witlv ferns and shell, the whole effect being most pleasing, and judging from the remarks Dean) on all sides from the spectators. A sitting of the Auckland Crown Lands Board will be heid in Te Kuiti next Thursday. Mr 11. M. Skeet, acting - commissioner, and several members of the board will be present. The usual monthly sitting of the Magistrate's Court at Te Kuiti will be held next Thursday.

Mr A. S. Gresham's collection of vegetables at Te Kuiti Flower Show was much admired, and the award of the points prize for this section was a fitting reward for a good collection. In the points prize for cut flowers three tied, namely. Miss Lusk, Mrs Stevens and Mrs Vercoe. In the total points prize. Mr A. S. Gresham and Mrs C. Matthew tied. The committee decided to draw for the winner in each case with the result that Miss Lusk obtained first and Mr Stevens second prize in the cut Mowers section, and Mrs C. Matthew the total points prizeMr C. A. Loughnan, solicitor to the Mokau Company, writing in the Manawatu Daily Times, takes up Mr Massey's challenge made at Parnell that there should be a definite charge regarding his attitude on Mokau. Mr Loughnan sets out ten separate matters connected with the Mokau transaction, with respect to which the Government and the purchasers of the block have been assailed. He"makes some strong comments on Mr Massey's action in the matter, and concludes by stating: "Mr Massey can take what change he can get out of that."

Mr C. K. Wilson, who successfully fought Taumarunui for the Reform Party, is an Australian by birth. Arriving in New Zealand at the age of 17, without money or prospects, he turned his hand to any sort of country work. Later he acquired an interest in land at Levin, and remained in that diarict till 1909—over 20 years. For a good part of that time he was associated wth the firm of Abraham and

Williams, and remained as manager and auctioneer for the West Coast. Mr Wilson has represented his district as a County Councillor and member of the Road Board, and also took vji active part in the formation of the "Farmers' Union. He was district representative at the first conference of the latter. His interests are those on the land and of the Reform Party.
