MR I). Me P. MATHESON. It was Willi deep regret that we have to announce the death, which occurred on Thursday afternoon, (if Mr Donald McPherson Matheson, late accountant of the branch of the Hank of New Zealand 'it. Mr Mallieaon has been in the enipbiv of the Hank of New Zealand since hia arrival from Scotland some M veai :•• ago. having nerved in Canterbury, Westland, Taranaki and Auckland, arid during the last five years has held the position of accountant at Te Awnmutu. The deceased was that stamp of citizen that no community can afford to lose, unobtrusive and retn ing, but genuine to the core, and of most kindly heart. Prior to the oprn ing of the daily service at Te Kuiti Mr Matliepon used to regularly visit here, and was very popular with all who knew him. To Mrs Matheson, daughter of Captain Pocket!,, wo extend our sympathy in Iter sad lohs.
