Fred Logan, who had been sentenced to four years' imprisonment for breaking and entering, and who recently assaulted the chief warder, for which he was sentenced to thirty days' confinement in irons, was again before the Court on a charge of assaulting a warder. Prisoner said he had been driven mad by the treatment he received, but now recognised that it wa3 better to go along quietly and try to please the authorities. The Magistrate said he would give him a chance, and simply imposed a sentence of loss of three months' good conduct marks.
