WAIKATO A. AND P. SHOW
" Success in Breeding.'
All the arrangements for this annual event are now in process of completion. The show season is in full swing, and reports to hand serve to show that the interest of both the public and the specialists is everywhere well maintained. The Argentine successes of Mr E. Short will have both a local and Imperial value, as showing what is possible with wellchosen stock under the peculiarly suitable conditions obtaining in the Dominion. Though it may not be the fortune of every raiser to achieve for his stock a world-wide renown, he may still find satisfaction in the fact that his more modest ambitions are fostered under the finest natural advantages the world has to offer. It is impossible that the success of Mr Short can fail to arouse increased interest in the class an! standard of New Zealand stock.
Local competitors will find healthy stimulus from the local show. The future of New Zealand shows will continue to attract attention, and the Waikato A. and P. Show will rise correspondingly in importance. The show on November Bth and 9th will make a further advance upon its predecessors. All those intricate arrangements for handling, heading and stornig exhibits, upon attention to which so much depends, stilT occupy the zealous attention of officials.
Railway arrangements are complete and will add much to the undoubted facilities which all interested parties will find placed at their disposal. Given satisfactory weather conditions there is the brightest of prospects for the success of the event.
