A dance was held in the School on 19th inst. There was only a small gathering of the young people of both races. However, they managed to thoroughly enjoy themselves till the mystic hour of midnight. Miss C. R. Budden recited, to the great amusement oO those present, "The Chinese Honeymoon." Mr W. Budden creditably performed the duties of an amateur M.C., while Mr Kolii contributed the dance music.
There is a good prospect of a creamery and another school being established between here and Otorohanga, the settling of the sections hereabouts (to be balloted for on the Ist prox). should make the .prospects of such a creamery very hopeful. The breaking up of new land and sowing of grass seed on this year's burns is still in progress. The roads continue good for vehicular traffic but the settlers would be pleased to see some metal put on the prospective bad places before the weather breaks.
