Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limij tel. report as follows: I We held our usual fortnightly sale at j Cambridge on Friday, the 2nd inst. 1 There was a -medium yarding of stock and a fair attendance, bidding being good and prices were well up to late sales. Fat light weight steers brought j£6 15s; fat cows £3 15s; fat light I weight heifers £3 10s; 18 month old ! steers £2 12s; steer calves 335; heifer calves 22s 6d; dairy cows up to £7los; dairy heifers to £5. The New Zealand Loan and Mercanile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows: Our Ohaupo dairy cow sale was he I i on 291 h and 30th. when 1000 cows and heifers went through the yards. There was a large attendance of settlers from all parts of the Waikato and outside districts, and (his was undoubtedly the best sale of dairy stock ever held here, as every lot changed hands at splendid prices. Cows carrying second to fourth calf made £6 15s to £7 ss; others, more aged £5 6s to £6; aged do. £1 2s Gd to £4 12s 6d; springing heifers £5 5s to £6 2s 6d; smaller sorts £4 to £4 12s fid. At Hamilton on the Ist inst., we had a large yarding of jheep and a fair number of fat and store cattle, for all of which a good demand existed. Fat cows sold from £4 15s to £5 18s; cows In forward condition £3 5s to £3 17s; strong calves 32s Gd to 425; dairy cows £6 10s to £8 10s; fat wethers 14s lOd to 16s Id; fat ewes 12s 3d; hoggets 12s to 13s; f.m. ewes in lamb 13s Id; store lambs 8s Sd to 10s. At Ngaroawahia on the 2nd inst.. we penned 200 store cattle and 90 dairy cows and heifers. Fat steers made £6 10s; fat cows £4 15s to £5 15s; heifers in forward condition £4 Is to £4 ss; 2 year old steers £2 8s to £3 7s; 2 year empty heifers £2 10s to £2 16s; calves 29s to 36*; dairy cows due to calve August and September £6 to £7 10s; heifers £5 10s ot £7 Is. On Saturday 3rd inst., we held a clearing sale at Eureka on account of Mr G. Woods, and despite the rough weather there wa* a good attendance, and the stock, etc. realised satisfactory prices, the Holstein and Jersey cows being eagerly competed for. Purebred Holstein cows made 9 1-2 to 10 1-2 guineas; halfbreds £8 15s to £ll ss; heifers due to calve in spring £5 2s 6d to £6 16s 6d; heifer calves £2 3s to £2 10s; pigs-porkers 30s to 325; sows £2 2s 6d; weaners 8s 6d; implement*, etc.. at usual rates.
