A meeting of the Union was held in Mr Falwas<er's office, Te Kuiti. on Tuesday evening, the president, Mr J. B. Young, being in the chair. With a view to getting outside matches Mr Howartb was asked to communicate with the Auckland University team and endeavour to arrange fcr a match to be ptayed with the Maniapoto Rugby Union at Te Kuiti. Further ararngements were made for the team to visit Auckland at the end of the month. The secretary was instructed to write to the Traffic Manager and arrange for cheap fares. ft was decided to cbrge one shilling admission to the Te Kuiti—Nehenebe nui match on Saturday. The following notice of motion was tabled by Mr Cotter: "That no player be eligible for registration on the Union till be be resident on the area under the jurisdiction of the Union for two weeks."
The match on Saturday next between theTe Kuiti and Nehenehenui teams is being looked forward to with keen interest, as upon the result depends the premiership for the season. The teams have already met twice this season, and each has been credited with a wio fo that honours are even. The championship last year was won by the Nehenehenui team, and the wearers of the black and gold jerseys may be count ed upon to put up a great struggle to retain the honour. Te Koiti players are confident, as though beaten by their opponents in their first match this season, on the last occasion they met the Te Koiti team scored a decisive victory.
