TE AWAMUTU POLICE COURT.

O Resident Correspondent. On Monday morning, before Messrs Teasdale and White J's.P., two sadfaced members of the unwashed brigade —James Farrelly and James F. Maxwell, were charged with the theft of an overcoat the property of Alfred Symons of Kawhia. Constable Lander deposed to arresting the men on Saturday night with the coat in their possession. Alfred Symons identified the coat as the one lost by him from where he had hung it up in his hotel. The presiding justices, taking into consideration that the men had been locked up since Saturday night, and that no previous offences were known, convicted and ordered them to come up for sentence when called upon.
