ARIA.
It has been decided to hold a sports meeting at Aria, and the date has been fixed for February 7th, 1907. An excellent programme has been drawn up, with prize money totalling over £4O, and given fine weather it is hoped that a record gathering will take place. As a result of the recent visit to the district of an Inspector of the Taranaki Education Board it has been decided to stai't schools at Aria and Kaeaeae. This fills a very urgent want and will be greatly appreciated by the settlers in both districts. The schools are to be half-time ones for a start, and it should not be long before separate teachers are provided for each centre, as the number of children in each place already warrants the establishing of separate schools.
Matters in connetion with the proposed daily factory are still being discussed, and efforts will be made to start next season. The country is looking exceedingly well, and in a season or two, providing the road facilities are given to the settlers, a dairy factory should be making" big returns.
