TE KUITI VILLAGE SECTIONS.
+ Sale Under Freehold Tenure. The sale of Te Kuiti village sections, held last Friday, attracted a considerable amount of attention both in Te Kuiti township and the outlying districts. Ever Since it became known that the sections were to be offered for sale under' the freehold tenure, speculation had been rife'as to the prices likely to be realised, and some extravagant estimates had been made. However, there was ample evidence in the interest shown by the settlers that the sections would go fatabove the upset prices. There was a very large attendance, the hall being filled some time before the sale commenced. In the absence of the Commissioner, operations were conducted by Mr H. Boscawen, assistant Commissioner. Bidding was brisk from the outset, the eight sections olfered realising a total of £398, an average of just under £SO per section. The first section offered was No. I, fronting the Mangaokewa river. Bidding started at the upset price, but a call of £SO was immediately made and in £l bids the figure of £64 was quickly reached, at which price Mr E. Moore, of Mahoenui, became the purchaser. Section 2 went to Mr E. Kerr at £45, and Mr McCardle secured section 3at £43. Section 4 was bought by Mr Tammadge, on behalf of the Church of England Home Mission, for £SO. Sections 5 and 6 were' secured by Mr E. R. Webb for £46 and £4B respectively, and section 7 was bought by Mrsßritt for £sl. Section 13, comprising two acres fell to the bid of Mr T. Pine at £sl.
