Taumarunui v. Kakahi.

Teams representing the above clubs met on the Recreation Ground, Taumarunui, on the 25th inst. The Taumarunui team was unable to play its full strength, and had to fall back on no less than five substitutes. Nevertheless, although starting the 2nd innings with a deficit of 27 runs (thanks to the brilliant baiting of Sarah, who made 48 not out) they had established a lead of 51 runs with four wickets still to fall when the game was abandoned at a most interesting stage, owing to rain. The scores were : Taumarunui Ist innings, 23 ; 2nd innings, 6 wickets for 78 ; Kakahi Ist innings, 50.
