MANGAMAUNU SCHOOL
WAR MEMORIAL DISCUSSED AT HOUSEHOLDERS’ MEETING. A meeting was held in the Mangaihaunu School last evening to consider proposals for a war memorial. Mr J. A. Forde presided over a sfnall attendance. The meeting was of the opinion that it will be impracticable to construct swimming baths, as was originally intended, owing to lack of water, and a suggestion was put forward that a memorial plaque be erected and that hard playing areas for the school be constructed. When estimates are obtained for this work a further meeting of householders will be caMcd to discuss the proposals.
