FEDERATED FARMERS
ANNUAL MEETING OF WOMEN’S DIVISION. The eighteenth annual meeting of members of the Kaikoura branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers was held last Friday. The president (Mrs E. L. Peter) presided over a good attendance of members. The meeting opened with the reading of the creed. The motto for the month was “Unity is strength.” Two new members were welcomed by the president, and the . resignation of a member who is leaving the district was accepted with regret. A motion of sympathy was passed to Mrs D. M. Pugh in her bereavement; akso to Mesdames E. E. Weavers and T. R. Mounsey in their illnesses. The annual report and balance sheet, which was considered very satisfactory, were presented by the secretary. Election of Officers. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: President, Mrs H. D. Crampton; vice-presidents, Mesdames A. B. Clark and F. J. Monk: secretary and treasurer, Mrs E. H. Morris; committee, Mesdames E. L. Peter, D. Sterritt, G. D. Smith, L. M. Wilson, and H. Aus tin; advisory members, Mesdames C. E. Lane and D. Sterritt; auditor, Mr •J. Carter. General. Tributes were paid to the retiring president for the manner in ■which she had fulfilled her position, and a vote of thanks was accorded the retiring officers for their work for the branch. It was decided to celebrate the birthday of the branch at a social tomorrow afternoon.
