NEW MANPOWER DRIVE.
LONDON, July 24. Britain is building up new armies for action in the Pacific, according to London observers, who say that thousands of men of military age now working in essential industries, will be mobilised for the Army in the new drive to meet manpower demands on all fronts. Many of these recruits will release trained soldiers from the armies stationed in Britain for action in new theatres. Only key men who are irreplaceable by older men or women will have their call-ups deferred in future. The new manpower drive is linked wiili the Governn^ent’s decision to transfer men from the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force to the Army.
