BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY

PUBLICANS’ COPPER TRAIL. Following is (he position of the publicans’ copper trail in connection with the Beautifying Society’s efforts to improve the foreshore: —

There was a very large attendance at the dance held in tin* T’ukcta Hall on Friday night in aid of funds for the Beautifying Society’s Blue Queen, and a most enjoyable time was spent. Music was supplied by Mrs Sabiston’s Dance Band, extras being played by Miss M. Eaton and Mr T. Towney. Mr Torrence Smith was master of ceremonies. Supper was served and dancing kept going merril.v until the early hours of the morning. A most successful dance was held in the Fernloigh Woolshed on Friday night in aid of funds for the Beautifying Society’s Green Queen. Music for the dancing was supplied by Mrs IL G. Johnston, with extras by Messrs B. Dalzell (accordeon), J. Lawson (harmonica), and D. Hock and K. Johnson (uikelele). Mr K. Johnson was master of ceremonies. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss M. Keenan and Mr J. Adair, (he chocolate competition by Mr H. Dalzell, and the trousseau bv Mi Trizzed (Christchurch). Supper was handed round and dancing continued until a late hour.
