THE BUTTER MARKET
LONDON PRICES By arrangement with the Primary Products Marketing Department the Dairy Board furnishes the following market information as at close of business in London at the end of last week: —New' Zealand butter, salted 104/- per cwt, unsalted 116/- to 118/-; Australian salted 102/- to 103/-, and unsalted 114/-; Danish, spot, 118/- to 119/-; South African, 96/- to 100/-; Siberian. 93/- to 96/-; Dutch, unsalted, 94/- to 99/-, and 103/- for extra lines; Ukrainian, 94/- to 96/-; Argentine, unsalted, 96/- to 98/-. The butter market is quiet. Retail prices, New Zealand, 1/1 per lb; Danish, 1/3. New Zealand cheese, white, 62/- to 63/-, and coloured the same price. Canadian, white and coloured, 70/- to 72/-. The cheese market is slow and New Zealand is selling retail at 8d per lb. Finest English farmers is realising 86/to 88/-, and factory cheese, 62/-.
