CHRISTMAS BONUS
FOR RELIEF WORKERS MINISTER ’S ANNO UNCEMENT WELLINGTON, November 19. The Minister for Labour (the Hon. H. T. Armstrong) announced to-day that there would be a further increase in the sustenance allowance, dating from the end of this month, but he was not yet in a position to say what the increase would be. There would also .be a Christmas bonus to relief workers, the Minister said. All relief works would be closed • [own from December 19 to January 4, and ordinary relief workers would be paid for the fortnight’s holiday.
