Britain’s production of steel last month reached a new high level of 1.060,500 tons. The output of ingots and castings exceeded September’s record figure by 33,500 tons. Activity in this industry is so great that it is almost certain that the output of steel for 1936 will be about 11,500,000 tons, thus far exceeding the record tonnage of 9,842,400 for 1035.
