N.Z. METROPOLITAN MEETING In almost perfect weather the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club continued its meeting on Thursday, and good sport was enjoyed by a crowd much bigger than is usually seen at Addington on an off day. The race track was in splendid order, and horses that had failed to handle the heavy going on the opening day showed great improvement. A feature of the day’s racing was the successful attempt made by Indianapolis to improve upon his mile record of 2min 1 2-ssec. He succeeded by one second and narrowly missed being the first pacer in the southern hemisphere to record two minutes for the distance. The totalisator figures showed the public to be well provided with tho means for speculation, for although several big dividends diverted a large amount of money into a very few pockets, the sum of £40,397 was put through the totalisator, against £25,619 10/- on the second day last year.
