CUP MEETING
CUP TO FEWSEN. The Cup Carnival Week opened on Saturday, when the Canterbury Jockey Club’s Metropolitan Meeting took place at Riccarton. Light rain fell early in the morning and continued intermittently throughout the day, but there was the usual enthusiastic crowd present, the totalisator receipts being up by about £9OOO on the opening day of last 'year.
