Borthwick, B.Sc., late of Kaikoura, who recently took up a position with Messrs Borthwick ami Son’s freezing works, has now accepted a position in the laboratories of the Shell Oil Company, Wellington.
Owing to the inclement weather it has been decided to postpone the annual owe fair, to have been held tomorrow, until Tuesday, February 25. A quantity of good harness ami riding saddles will be offered for sale at the Messrs Williams and Rose, the successful contractors for the concrete carrier telephone repeater station, in Killarney Street, have, commenced operations. The repeating station is more familiarly known as a “booster” station. In the past the Seddon station has been utilised for boosting long-dis-tance calls. The wedding was quietly solemnised at her parents’ residence on Tuesday a.fternon last of Alma Eileen, only daughter of Air and Mrs F. H. Flower, Kaikoura. , to Roland Gordon Johnston, also of Kaikoura. The Rev. F. Robertson was the officiating minister. Mr and Airs R. G.
