KAIKOURA DAIRY CO.
Tbo monthly meeting of directors of the Kaikoura Dairy Company rook place on Wednesday. Present; Messrs P. 8. Humm (Chairman), H. Ashby, J. D. Boyd, J. J. Harnett, A. K enan W. Dalzell, P. W. Adair and J. A. Mackie. The chairman reported having inspected the firewood under contract with Boyd and Tolchard, and was satisfied as to the quantity and quality. The Manager (Mr A. Ross) reported that for the month of April, 76,6041bs of butter was manufactured, as compared with 48,8291bs in April, 1933. The overrun was 22.87. Up to the present 325 tons of butter had been manufactured, 100 per cent, of which was graded finest quality. The average grade was 94.30, as compared with 94.19 last season. The quantity of petrol sold for April was 2034 gallons. The report was adopted. It was resolved that the resolution of 1932 appearing on the minutes re hours for sale of petrol be rescinded. The Sunday hours were fixed for 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. during tho period when the factory if? operating. The following tenders were received for renovations to the manager’s residence:—C. Nash £6 14/6; T.-J. Kirbv £7 10/; 8. T. Harris £6 10/. The lowest tender was accepted. It was decided to invite tenders for a septic tank at the factory, the arrangements being left in the hands of the Chairman and Secretary. The pay-out for April was fixed at M. Accounts were passed for payment.
