GIFT EVENING.
A very pleasant and enjoyable evening was spent on Thursday last, when Mrs F. D. Childs, of “Thornbury, ” Domett, gave a gift evening in honour of Miss Noeline Jackman, who is to bo married shortly. Cards and competitions were indulged in, and items were contributed by Miss M. McDonald (pianoforte solo), Mr C. Holton (song), anil Miss V. Bosomworth (song). A skit on the local paper, conducted by “ ’Erb” and “ ’Grace,” created much amusement. A dainty supper was served, and the evening was brought to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” Those present were Mesdames Childs (2) Paton, E. Jackman, Geeson, McLaren, 8. Denton, Gillanders, C. Jackman, Bowley, Robinson, Misses Jack man (4), M. Sloss, M. McDonald, Bosomworth (2), Dailey, Johnson, Martin. •Tonkins, Cottrell, Smith, Wilkinson, Meikle, Masken (Wellington), and Dr Irwin, Messrs Childs (3), Paton, Me Laron, McDonald (2), Holton, Anderson (Ladbrooks), Cottrell (2), Denton (3) Geeson, Sloss, Wilkinson, Jackman (4) Fleming, Sullivan, Smith, Berry, and Marshall.
