CHINAMAN RUNS AMOK.

BRISBANE, May 10. A Chinaman, Chong Fooii, armed with an axe in one hand ami a chopper in the other, ran amok at Innisfail, and murderously attacked three other Chinese in a shop in Chinatown. Two of the victims are fearfully injured, ami are not expected to recover. When Foon ran amok the police were informed, and two detectives dashed io the shop, which was like a shambles, with an excited crowd of several hundred people watching outside. Foon at tacked the police, displaying maniacal strength. There was a desperate struggle, in which one of the detectives was wounded in the arm with the chopper, before the Chinaman was overpowered.
