SHIPPING.
PORT OF KAIKOURA. The Jane Douglas returned from the south early this morning, and left for the north this afternoon. The Tui is expected from Wellington on Saturday morning. The schooner, Croydon Lass, arrived at Nelson. reports that on Sunday last, 26th it. - - , when off Kaikoura, on the passage from Lyttelton, those on board thought 'rat she’ had grounded, and at once took such action as was necessary under such circumstances. but found it was a severe earthquake shock.
