PERSONAL NOTES.

Tbe death of Mra Johannah Sweetman, an old and esteemed resident of Greymouth, occurred yesterday at the residence of her son, Mr Richard Sweetman. A native of County Kerry, Ireland, and 74 years of age, the late Mrs Sweetman came to New Zealand 50 years ago, and after being for a number of years in tbe employ of the late Martin Kennedy, married the late Peter Sweetman, when they resided for a number ef years at Try again Terrace, Nelson Creek, while of later years she had resided witb her daughter, Mrs J. Keating, of Pearn’s Hotel, Kumars. She also leaves seven sons. The death is announced from Minnesota, U.S.A., of Henri Verbruggben the need musician, aged 61 years. He formerly directed orchestras in tbe British Isles and Australia, before taking charge of the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra.
