SHARE TRANSFERS

GUILTY OF FORGERY & UTTERING p (Per United Press Assn.) New Plymouth, Nov. 12 Richard Albert Dailey, oi Auckland, was to-day found guilty by a jury in the Supreme Court on nine charges of forging and uttering share transfer doou. ments in a company known as Extravac, Limited. The jury strongly recommended Dailey to mercy, and lie was remanded for sentence. The uttering took place at Auckland on or about Septems ber 16, when Dailey caused share transfer forms to lie pre- j sented for registration. Nine I applicants for shares gave evi- I dence that the signatures on the I documents were not theirs. Counsel frankly admitted that Dailey had filled in and signed the transfer forms, thinking he had every right to do so. Coun. ■el handed in the transfer forms attached to the original application forms, which Dailey had copied. The entire office of the company knew what Dailey had done. To prove forgery, he suggested that criminal intent had to be proved.
