The ordinary fortnightly sittings of the S. M. and Warden's Coart will be held to-morrow, commencing at 10 30 a.m.

The Diamond Jubilee Agricultural Show opened to-day in fine weather. There are record entries in the Btock classes. —Wanganui Press wire.

There was not as large an attendance as usual at the Forty Fives Tournament at the Parish Hall last evening, but despite this there was very keen playing. The first prize was won by Mrs Renwick and Mrs Judge secured, the second.

Free admittance is granted every first Sunday in the month to the concerts given by the Heidelberg Municipal Orchestra during the winter season for those who cannot otherwise afford the joys of concert going. Works by Schubert, Beethoven. Mozart. Weber. Haydn, and Brahma will be performed this season. The concerts will hsve an educational value. Each item in the programmes will be followed by a short explanatory lecture and tbe performance will then b 9 repeated.
