Reed 9 45 a.m Melbourne, This day The Navy Office anuounced that seven ratings had been discharged from the Royal Australian Navy and another man was sentenced to detention for ninety days, as the result of the disturbance qo.-H.MA__ S. Moresby at _Do r -7 7 i G on | October. An able seaman struck a petty officer, and he was disciplined. It was reported at the time although the Commander of the Moresby denied it later, that tke offender was put in irons. As a protest seme of the other ratings locked themselves in a mess room and refused to open the door until the irons were removed. The Court of Enquiry considered the action of the seven ratings who refused to parade for duty when an attempt was made to restore order after the disturbance, and the punishments announced are tbe results of these inquiries. - - ==• - -- •;
