A sum of approximately £IO.OOO has, 7;een bequeathed to the University of New Zealand, under the will of the late Mr L. B. Wood, of Christchurch, who died last- Sunday. It is the wish of the testator that this sum be invested and the income used +o provide research and a travelling scholarship tenable by graduates of any of the constituent colleges of I the University of New Zealand. The will directs that a fund he set up, to he known as the L\ B. Wood Travelling Scholarship Fund, and stipulates that the sum shall not become available for investment until the life interest of two beneficiaries shall cease. No specified field of research is stipulated.
