His Worship's nearly here ? ” So we sfchood up like one man, while the prisoner McCann, Doused his butt, and parked it iust behind his ear. “ ’Tis a prima facia case,” said the Sergeant of Polaice, And we caught this man red handed, in the act ; Though I’d not call him a glutton, sure we found him stealing mutton, And he says he’s pleading guilty to the fact.” Said the Magistrate M’Cnnn, will you stand up like a man. And tell us what had tempted you to steal ? Qouth McCann, “ Sir,. I was broke,.and I tell ye it’s no joke, For to be without the money for a Re this prima facia coup; I’ll explain my choice of shop, If your Worship will excuse me making puns ; But a ‘ prima ’ piece of meat, ne’er will ’facie ’ when ye eat, If ye get it off of McELWIfiE A SONS’.
