CASE OF LEPROSY

IN HUNTLY. >. HINDU PATIENT. (Per United Press Assn.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. A case of Leprosy has been reported from' the neighbourhood of Huntly. The patient is a Hindu, aged 45, a storekeeper, where he resided for a number of years. He was removed to Hamilton and admitted to the Waikato Hospital, where he was placed in isolation. The disease is not in an advanced ( stage. S The case was reported to the Health ( Department, which is making arrange- t ments for the patient to be sent to - Leper Station at Makogai Island. -- The department official stated that 1 .Leprosy was extremely rare in New Zealand, and when the occur, It was nearly always confined to the Maoris.
