EVADING INCOME TAX CITY MOTOR FIRMS (United Press Assn—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) MELBOURNE. Last Night. Representatives of two city motor firms were fined the record amount of £10,560 for Income tax evasion. The defence explained that a special reserve fund was created in 1925 hut later it was found to be unnecessary and was withdrawn. When the responsible official realised this was evading the tax he was afraid to inform the Department.
