The Morning Post's correspondent at Borne says: A mysterious old German, Heinrich Basso, died at Bressanons in seemingly wretched poverty. The authorities found a steel box containing hank hooks, showing accounts in German and English hanks and keys of various safe deposits and a will bequeathing the total estate to Chinese people through the Chinese Government, so long as the money is used for the struggle against Europeans.

The fortune is believed to amount to half a million sterling. It Is suggested that it represents special secret funds of the late German Imperial authorities which accumu la ted when Basse was hanker.
