(Per United Frees Asm.) Smallpox at Vancouver - 9 Wellington, This day As the result of private advice received by the Minister of Health to the effect that an outbreak of small-pox has occurred at Vancouver, the Port Health Officers throughout New Zealand have been instructed to keep a strict watch upon vessels arriving in the Dominion from Canada.
HARD OF HEARING A LEAGUE FORMED AUCKLAND, Last Night. A New Zealand League for the hard of hearing was formed at a public meeting in the Town Hall. Representatives of public, social and religious bodies were present. A message was received from the Minister of Health, promising official and personal support and it was announced that the Executive of the British Medical Association had expressed its sympathy with the movement.
A preliminary advisory committee was appointed and nearly a hundred members were enrolled.
