THE Inangahua Times. THURSDAY, DEC. 24, 1931 CHRISTMAS, 1931
The Xma« season is wi'h us again and it comes with times not as prosperous as we could wish, but, , despite this, there is little doubt that the Inanpahua district is not suffering to the extent »hat is being i 'felt in the large cities of the Dominion, in many ot which there j is real want being experienced, '-te«sni*e the efforts that are being made on a'l sides to cope wi«h *he distress caused by the economic position. This state ot things, unlortnnatelv, shows no immediate promise ot amendment but we r»n all <?o our little towards the amelioration ot the lot of those who art- not In a prosperous coo dition. Acts of kindness done tn a simple and unostentatious manner of times assist the 'dispirited, and at Christmastide this teeling can well be made more evident. It is the simple things in life that count, and we hope that all our readers will remember this when they meet others that are not so fortun* ately situated as themselves. There is a brighter side to the picture, however, and when one witnesses the happy laces ot the little ones on finding that Father Christmas has not forgotten them, It is surely a wonderful recompense to them for the self denial they have made. We hope for brighter times at no distant date, and the fact that gold has come into its own —though long delayed—should assist the Inangahua district and incidently the whole Dominion—in a return to the prosperity that it has enjoyed 1 in the past. We, therefore, with such, a prospect in view in the near future, can wish everyone A MERRY CHRISTMAS
