A Tiger in a Plajie
Exciting Pred cament * Rec 12 io p m London, Dec 17 Unknown to the pilot and the mechanic, an exciting scene was enacted over the Channel in the cabin of an aeroplane flying from Ostend to Croydon. The passengers included a tiger and its trainer coming to appear at a performance in London. The tiger was making its first flight and it was most unhappy and growled ferociously. The trainer entered the cage to keep tbe animal company, when tbe tiger shot out as soon as the door opened, but it did not attack anyone. It just wrestled with tbe trainer, who with great presence of mind dashed back into tbe cage with the tiger clinging to him, and managed to unfasten the animal therein. The aeroplane had to descend at Penshurst owing to fog.
