AUSTRALIAN LOAN CONVERSION

New York Aug 19 The “New York Times,” in a leadline article on Australia’s loan conversion, says: “Australia means business She has set herself resolute y on the path of rehabilitation and p o sperity. She has maintained her own self respect. She has acquired honour and she has perhaps provoked envy in the eyes of other nations.” The paper refers to the activities of Mr J. Lang (N.S.W. Premier) and adds; "Even obstreperous Mr Lang has had to learn meekness. He has had to come hat-in-hand to the Loan Council.”
