He obtained £IS,OOO from Mrs Harrold, whose' daughter he also induced to become %is mistress, Corrigan being already inarried. j iHe flrst attracted police attention , when he was a second grade steward - c[n a steamship. iHe then joined the ' Ministry of Munitions, where he called himself Major Cassidy. Later, for 5 years, he exploited imaginary j §ions in Yugaitan, ruining several victims, his frauds exceeding £IOO,OOO. | The Judge, in sentencing him, said aecusojl had boon .guilty of bad, cruel frauds. Corrigan showed no mercy. One wealthy man lost everything and #as obliged to become a clerk in an Insurance office, while Corrigan lived in luxury at the best hotels in England and France.
