DISMEMBERED BODY
FOUND IN A -GREEK CONFESSION BY MINEL. SMITH KILLED DURING DRUNKEN , BRAWL. ' SYDNEY, Last Night. At the inquest at Narrbi today into the death of James Rmith or Borenaon, whoso dismembered body was found in Narrbi Creek on November 11th, the police read a signed statement of Paul Minel, aged 50, German labourer, who is under arrest on a charge of murder. « « Minel sensationally related how, luring a drunken quarrel with Rmith n the old hut," Rmith attempted to ;trike him with a brick or stone, which Minel wrestles! from him and striking >mith with it, Rmth fell and appeared o go to sleep. A short time afterwards, Minel saw lim reach for his rifle. A scuffle •naued and Minel seized the rifle, vhieh exploded and Rmith fell. Minel later noticed he was dead. He secured on axe nnd chopped the body to pieces and placed them in bags, he head separately, and dumped them n the creek. Minel then worked about the disrict for some days. He had a great leal of drink, sold P *iith’s motor ruck and then took SmilL name and oft the district. Minel was committed for trial on a •barge of murder.
