Wellington Supreme Court.
Per Press 'Association Wellington, May 12. ' Barnard Smith, a middle aged man, was convicted of indecently assaulting - a little girl at Karori. His Honor, Justice Chapman, said this was one of which consequences might in the future be far reaching, ft was necessary that it should be known as widely as possible that all the judges regarded this crime as one of the worst character that could be brought before the Court. The prisoner would be sentenced to five years' hard labour. Alexander McMillan, charged with forging a receipt for a telegraphic money order, was found not guilty.
